Nissan Note Door Wont Lock

After taking off the door panel to change my speakers and check out the problem i noticed the little metal rod that actually unlocks the door lock is not connected to the round nut where the key goes in.

A rod connects the actuator to the latch and another rod connects the latch to the knob that sticks up out of the top of the door. Car door lock actuators are designed to lock and unlock a door without the effort of pulling on a cable and rod. Sometimes everything works fine. So the key just goes in and doesn t turn at all.

Recently i have experienced a problem with the key fob door button and the master lock switches not locking or unlocking the driver s door. If the fob appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. When your wires snap you may not be able to open the boot.

If both of these devices check out ok you may need to replace your fob. In some cars the door lock actuator is positioned below the latch.
